A good example of a Chinese tea caddy dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is made of pewter with a lacquered finish. It is a quatrefoil shape with a round top and is decorated with gilt inlaid symbols and images. There are signed Chinese symbols on the base.
It is in good condition for its age. There are signs of age and use, some surface marks, small dents and knocks here and there but no major damages and it displays well. The lacquer has worn slightly over the years and there are small chips and losses but this has produced a lovely aged patina.
