An original GWR Wagon Plate dating from the early to mid 20th Century. It is completely authentic and has a great look to it. It is a good quality heavy piece made from cast iron with a black painted background and raised white letters and numbers. It is for Wagon number 2973 which we understand was a fruit wagon.
It measures approximately 11" (28cm) long by 6 1/2" (16.5cm) high.
It is in good original condition with just some minor wear and small marks and knocks but nothing untoward for a sign of this age and nothing that we feel is detrimental. It displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and is ready for use.
