Product Details

A lovely set of spelling letters dating from the late 19th Century, originally used as a teaching aid for young children learning their alphabet and spelling. They were often made and sold by Prisoner's of War. The set comes in a small antique treen turned wood pot.

The letters are made of bone (cow/bovine) and there are 52 in total - two complete sets of 26 letters. The letters measure approximately 13/14mm high and approximately 1-2mm thick.

The whole set is in very good condition. There are no major damages to any of the tiles and just some minor discolouration and marks on a few pieces.
