Product Details

A lovely writing desk dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It is a quality piece made in the arts and crafts style with an overhanging top and shaped brackets below. It has a single drawer with brass handles and stands on tapering turned legs and brass castors. The top has an inset beige leather writing surface with gilt tooled edging.

It is a nice compact size, perfect as a side table or a small desk. The drawer is stamped with the maker's name "Jas Shoolbred & Co" and Serial Number "9895".

The desk is in very good condition. It is generally clean and tidy throughout and the writing surface is in good order. The drawer opens smoothly and the desk moves well on its castors. There are normal signs of light wear and age, small marks and knocks but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
