A lovely small oak writing desk dating from the early 20th century. It is a quality piece made in the arts and crafts style with an overhanging top and shaped brackets below. It has a single drawer with copper handles and it stands on square legs with block feet, joined by a stretcher. The top has an inset writing surface with tooled edging.
It is a nice compact size, perfect as a side table or a small desk. There is a small engraved name on the stretcher which is likely the maker's name.
The desk is in very good condition. It is generally clean and tidy throughout and the writing surface is in good order. There are a few old ink stains inside the drawer but it opens smoothly. There are normal signs of light wear and age, small marks and knocks but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
