A good example of an arts and crafts copper coal scuttle by William Soutter & Sons. It is a traditional helmet shape with a swing handle and round foot. It is excellent quality and beautifully decorated with stylised leaves and flowers. It has the maker's stamp under the foot.
It is in good original condition and displays beautifully. There are no damages, splits or holes. There are some minor dinks and dents and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
