A striking Art Nouveau copper tea set made by Carl Deffner in Esslingen Germany in the early 20th Century. The set consists of a tea pot, milk jug and sugar bowl all in copper with stylish Art Nouveau designs on each and elaborate brass handles.
Each piece is stamped on the base with Carl Deffner's mark.
The whole set is in very good condition. There are some faint surface marks and a few light knocks and some small dinks but nothing untoward or detrimental. The applied brass rim of the sugar bowl has slightly come away in the middle but it is not detrimental and the handles are strong and sturdy. The set has been gently cleaned and polished and displays beautifully.
