A good example of an original Art Deco chrome standard lamp. It is a simple geometric design, typical of the Art Deco period, with a square base beautifully veneered in rosewood and another square wooden section above. The chrome has been lightly polished and has a good shine, giving almost a mirrored effect.
It has been PAT Tested and rewired to modern standards with an on/off foot switch and it takes a standard bayonet bulb.
The lamp is in good original condition and the wood has been polished to show off the beautiful grain. There are some small marks and knocks around the base, some minor chips to the upper wooden section and some light pitting and tarnishing to the chrome but nothing detrimental. It is strong and sturdy and displays well.
