An attractive Welsh chair dating from the early 19th century. It is a lovely country piece with shaped arms and a ladderback with carved geometric splats. It has a solid square seat and stands on turned legs.
It is a good comfortable chair with a broad seat and it is in good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely time worn patina with wonderful burred wood on the seat. There have been a few old repairs and an old shrinkage split in the seat but structurally it is strong and sturdy. There are signs of old woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
