Product Details

A nice example of a small tabletop chest of 8 graduated drawers dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is made of stained pine and the drawers have turned wooden knobs. It is a wellington style with a hinged cover on one side of the drawers which locks the drawers in place.

It would have likely originally been used in a workshop to contain small parts or screws and there is a handwritten paper conversion chart for sizes of taps on the inside of the hinged cover. Now it would make a lovely specimen / collectors chest or even a jewellery box or stationery cabinet.

It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. The drawers are generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of age and use, some surface marks and knocks, old splits and chips and some wear to the finish but no major damages and it has a good authentic aged patina. The bottom two knobs are slightly different to the rest but it isn't detrimental and it still displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
