A nice mahogany open bookcase dating from the late 19th Century. It is a simple design set on a plinth base with architectural columns flanking the open front. The shelves are made of pine and their position is adjustable.
It is a good size with nice small proportions and is in good condition for its age. The mahogany has developed a wonderful rich aged patina but is not without some small knocks and marks and minor chips in the veneer around the top edges (see photos) but nothing detrimental. The bottom of the columns are also chipped but it isn't so noticable due to the design. Overall it displays beautifully and has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
