A beautiful antique stationery cabinet dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a lovely warm patina with a burr walnut sloped front with brass escutcheon.
The doors opens out to reveal a series of racks for holding papers and letters. There is also a pen tray and a glass inkwell. Below this is a large drawer with recessed brass handle, held in place with a small brass pin.
It is a good quality example and there is a compliments slip in the drawer from the Cabinet Office which was there when I bought it so I have left it with the box.
It is in good condition and comes with a working key. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There have been a few small repairs here and there and a small slither of wood has been added to the edge of the door to ensure they close tightly. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
