An unusual chip carved 'tramp art' box dating from the late 19th century. It has a rectangular form with rows of geometric carvings. There are small white balls decorating the front and back and it has large brass carrying handles on the sides. The top of the box has a large red velvet pin cushion. The hinged lid opens to reveal a plain interior.
It is a very decorative piece and it is in good condition for its age. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use and a couple of small chips and losses but no major damages and overall it displays well.
