A lovely antique spice box, with six compartments and it's original nutmeg grater in the centre. It has a black painted finish with some remains of gilt detailing. It has a closing latch on the front and small metal handle on the top.
It has been well used and has developed the most beautiful aged patina which really sets off the whole piece. The paint has flaked and rubbed and there are small patches of rust showing through however the hinges are strong and the spice compartments are in good order. Overall it displays beautifully and is certainly usable too.
