A fabulous Bentwood chair in the manner of Thonet dating from the early 20th Century. It has a traditional round seat with pressed art nouveau style design. It has a wide curving back with sweeping arms, stylised splats and steamed supports. The legs are also joined by a circular steamed support.
The chair is a good generous size and comfortable to sit in. It stands 31 1/2” (80cm) high and 27” (69cm) wide across the widest part of the arms. The seat is approximately 18 1/2” (47cm) high and 18 1/2” (47cm) in diameter.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy with a lovely patina. There are a few knocks and light marks around the legs and a small chip on the edge of a back splat but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
