Product Details

A nice example of a small elm dresser base with a lovely thick twin plank sycamore top. It likely dates from the mid to late 19th Century. It stands on simple square legs and has 2 large drawers, each with brass plate handles and matching escutcheons. It is very much a country piece and is quite crudely constructed but has a good rustic look and a lovely rich patina.

It is in good condition throughout and is strong and sturdy. It is not without signs of age and use and it has suffered from worm at some stage which is most evident in the top (see photos). It has all been treated and hardened as a precaution and doesn't concern us now. The drawer handles are not original although they suit the piece well. The tips of the legs have been raised where they have worn gradually over the years and there have been a few other old repairs here and there but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been given a thorough clean and a gentle polish and is ready for use.
