A good example of an antique surgeon's set dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century with it's original maker's label for "A.Young, 57 & 61 Forrest Rd Edinburgh ".
The set contains 7 original black handled instruments, a pair of tweezers and an additional pair of scissors and needle in the top of the box.
It comes in its original fitted mahogany box with a push catch and brass cartouche.
The whole set is in good original condition. There are some age related marks, scuffs and the metal has tarnished over the years but there are no major damages. The box has some scuffs and knocks but nothing detrimental.
