Product Details

A good example of an antique stick back farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved arms supported by turned spindles. It is high backed with narrow turned spindles standing on turned legs joined by a central stretcher and a further stretcher between the back legs.

The chair stands approximately 40" (102cm) high. Arm to arm is 23" (58cm) wide and it is approximately 19" (48cm) deep. The seat is 16 1/2" (42cm) high.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use and some marks and light knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. There are some signs of old worm in the back leg which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chair structurally or aesthetically. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
