A beautiful antique stationery box dating from the early 20th Century. The front and top of the box are inlaid with shell motifs and a strung border. The top lifts up to reveal a padded leather pen holder with various different sections. The front then folds down to reveal the inner letter racks, pen tray and glass inkwells. The front folds out again to provide a sloped writing surface with maroon leather and a gilt tooled edge. It also comes with its original working key.
It is in good condition throughout and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, some minor wear to the finish a small repair to the back edge but nothing detrimental or untoward and overall it displays very well.
