A good example of an antique surveyor's level dating from the early to mid 20th Century in its original box.
The Theodolite is stamped near the eyepiece "Trade Mark. STANLEY. London. Made in England". It is a good quality instrument with a spirit levels and adjustment screws in the base to ensure it is exactly level.
It is in good condition and displays well. The theodolite lenses are undamaged and they focus well with good range and clarity. There are some small knocks and surface marks and some tarnishing to the metal and small areas of paint loss around the base but nothing detrimental.
Approximate Measurements :
Length : 9" (23cm)
Height : 5" (13cm)
Width of Base : 5" (13cm)
The theodolite comes in its original fitted box with leather carrying handle and metal closing latches. The box is strong and sturdy with some signs of age and a small repair near the back hinge but no major damages.
