Product Details

Superb example of a Victorian surveyor's level complete with it's original tripod dating from the late 19th century.

The Theodolite itself is made of brass and it is engraved "9154. Stanley. Great Turnstile. Holborn. London." It is a high quality instrument with an extendable telescope, two spirit levels, a large compass and adjustment screws in the base to ensure it is exactly level.

It is in good condition and displays well. The theodolite lenses are undamaged and have the cross-sight. They focus well with an incredible range and clarity. There are some small knocks and surface marks and some tarnishing to the brass but nothing detrimental.

The theodolite comes with its original mahogany tripod with a threaded metal fixing to join to the instrument. It is a large, sturdy and very good quality tripod with pointed ends for poking into the ground.
