A lovely example of an early 20th century stacking oak bookcase by Gumm. It has four lead glazed sections with an 'up and over' sliding door. It is a good quality piece with a flat top and short square legs. It has a brass plaque on the top which reads "Presented to the Rev W.T.E Morris by the members of St Michaels & All Angels' Church Trebanos. In appreciation of his ministry amongst them. 1931-1935"
As is typical with these pieces each section splits apart so it can be easily transported.
It is in good condition for its age with a nice rich patina and colour. It is not without some signs of age and use, some minor marks and light internal surface scratches but no major damages or anything detrimental and it displays well. The bookcase has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
