Product Details

A superb Art Deco glass inkwell with solid silver collar and beautiful guilloche enamel top. I believe it is an inkwell due to its shape but it could also be a vanity bottle. The quality is superb and it is made of heavy deep cut glass with a star cut base. The enamel top is a beautiful deep blue and the interior of the lid is gilded.

Both the collar and top are clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1931 with the maker's mark K&L.
It is in very good condition for its age and there are no damages to the enamel. There are some general signs of age and use on the silver, some light surface marks and a few small dinks but nothing detrimental. The glass is in good condition with no cracks and just a few small nibbles on the edges of some of the cut squares (see photo). The hinge is strong and opens well with just some minor natural side-to-side play. The silver has been lightly cleaned and polished and overall it displays very well.
Approximate Measurements:
