A good example of a small Sterling Silver Christening cup. It is a simple design with arched handle, ribbed detail and small pouring lip. The front is engraved with initials that look like "CAC from FOH. July 23rd 1872". It is good quality and weighs approximately 136g.
It is hallmarked for Richards & Brown, London, 1870. It is also stamped on the bottom "5306". The hallmark is slightly rubbed but still readable.
Approximate Measurements :
Height : 3 1/2" (9cm)
Base Diameter : 2 3/4" (7cm)
Length across Handle : 4 1/4" (11cm)
It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks and some light scratches and marks inside the cup but nothing detrimental and overall it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
