Product Details

An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher.

It has a brass plaque underneath for "Robert Love & Son, Chard".

It is approximately 29" (74cm) high and it is 27" (69cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 17" (43cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.

It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a nice aged patina where the finish has worn over the years and it is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few marks and signs of age and use but no major damages and nothing detrimental. The grain is wonderful and it displays very nicely.
