Product Details

A good example of an antique silver mounted hip flask. The main glass bottle has a removable silver plated base with gilt lining which can double as a drinking cup. The collar and top are sterling silver and the cap twists to lock in place. The main body is covered in a dark brown leather.

The hallmark on the top is partly obscured by the leather but the lion passant and the top of the Sheffield crown can be seen. The maker's mark is a little worn but I believe it is for Sibray Hall & Co which would date the piece to the 1880s.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It has been well used and there are signs of age and use. The plating on the cup is worn and tarnished in places and there has been a small patched repair to the leather. There are no damages to the glass and the silver top is in good order. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
