A good example of a small globular match holder with a solid silver rim. The holder itself is made from ribbed glass and the hole in the top is to store the matches.
The silver rim is engraved "M.B.H from F.D.H. Oct 19th 1901"
and
is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1901 and the maker Henry Greaves.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some small dinks and surface marks on the silver rim and some small scuffs to the glass but no major damages and it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
