A good example of a solid Sterling Silver pepper shaker. It is a stylish and good quality piece on a round foot with swirling repousse decoration and a small finial on top. It weighs approximately 40g although the base may possibly be weighted.
It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1905 and the makers Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks and minor dinks but nothing detrimental. There are a few dents around the rim of the top but it still fits well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
