Product Details

A good quality Edwardian sterling silver cruet set in its original fitted case. The set consists of a pair of pepper shakers, a pair of salt dishes with spoons and a lidded mustard pot with spoon. The mustard pot and salt dishes have their original blue glass liners.

Every individual piece is hallmarked for Deakin & Francis Ltd, Birmingham, 1901/1902. The hallmarks are slightly rubbed, more so on some pieces than others, but still distinguishable. The total weight of silver is 252g.

Each piece is in very good condition. There are some minor signs of age and use and there are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and small dinks but nothing detrimental. However the liner in the mustard pot has been broken and glued at some point (see photo).
The box is good quality with a silk lid lining, emblazoned with the retailer's name "Bowden & Sons Ltd", and a fitted velvet base. The outer of the case is not without some signs of age and use and scuffs and small losses but overall it displays very well.

Approximate Measurements :
