A fine example of an antique silver coffee set consisting of a coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. The quality is excellent and the silver is a good heavy gauge with a combined weight of 935g. It is a stylish set with an elegant Georgian shape, ribbed gadrooned detail and ebonised handles on the coffee pot.
Each piece is clearly hallmarked for J.Sherwood & Sons, Birmingham. The coffee pot and the sugar bowl are hallmarked 1903 and the milk jug is hallmarked 1904.
The whole set is in very good condition. There are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and a small dent near the rim of the coffee pot lid but nothing untoward or detrimental and the set displays very well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
