A lovely antique coopered storage barrel dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is most likely Scandinavian in origin and was probably used as a butter churn. It has a flared shape and comes with its original lid. It is a very decorative item with traces of the original green and blue paint and would make a fabulous item in a kitchen or laundry room.
It is in good original condition and displays well. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks and natural old shrinkage splits but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
