An original "REVO" lantern on a wrought iron bracket dating from the 1930s. It is excellent quality with a brass and steel hexagonal frame and opaque glass panels. The hinged lid opens up to access the bulb holder inside. The top gallery is stamped "Revo. Tipton".
It has been re-wired to modern standards and takes a standard bayonet bulb.
REVO were manufacturers of street lighting so this elegant lantern would have once lit up an English street through WW2 and beyond.
It is in good condition for its age. There are no major damages to any of the glass panels and they have been re-puttied at some point to ensure they are secure and watertight. There are of course signs of age and use, some tarnishing on the metal and the paint on the bracket is flaking and worn in places but overall it displays well.
