Product Details

Beautiful leather chair dating from the late 19th Century. It is a good comfortable chair with a solid oak frame and deep overstuffed seat. It has a curved upholstered back with turned spindles set on turned front legs and splayed rear legs, terminating in brass castors. It is upholstered in red leather with brass studded edges. The leather is beautifully worn and faded on the seat and areas where it would have received the most use. It serves as a very comfortable desk chair but could also be a nice library or hall chair.

It is approximately 33" (85cm) high. The seat is approximately 25" (64cm) deep and 26" (67cm) wide.

It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is structurally very sound. The leather has worn and there are a few brass studs missing but there are no major damages or tears. It is likley that the upholstery is not original but has been on the chair some considerable time. The oak frame is very sturdy. It is not without a few small marks here and there and some minor splits but nothing untoward for a chair of this age.
