Product Details

Very nice example of an antique pocket compass dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. The compass is cased in gilt brass with a loop to enable it to be attached to a chain. The silvered dial is traditionally marked with the compass bearings.

The compass is in good condition for its age. The glass is undamaged and has no major surface scratches or chips. The dial is generally clean and clear to read although there are some white spots on the glass on the inside (see photos). There are a few small knocks around the casing and some light scratches and tarnishing but only what is to be expected. It displays very nicely and it appears to be in working order although I cannot say for sure how accurate it is.

Approximate Measurements :

Diameter : 1 3/4" (4.5cm)

Depth : 3/8" (1cm)
