A fantastic set of pigeonholes dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. They are made from a simple pine construction with planked sides and the front moulding around the holes has been painted black. Each pigeonhole measures approximately 7" (18cm) x 5 1/2" (14cm) x 7" (18cm) deep. They can be used standing either lengthways or sideways or could be wall mounted.
They are in good original condition with plenty of signs of age and use. There are some old splits, chips and knocks and surface marks but nothing untoward and they are strong and sturdy. They have been cleaned and lightly waxed to retain their authentic aged look.
