A large 19th Century pine mule chest with its original carrying handles. The lid lifts up to reveal a large storage compartment with its original hinges. Below this is a drawer with flush military style brass handles. It stands on turned bun feet and comes with its original working key for the top section.
It is in good original condition throughout and is strong and sturdy with a lovely warm patina. The hinges are in good order and the interior is clean and tidy. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
