A lovely pine box Settle dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has an ecclesiastical design with a hooded top supported by turned columns and three arched panels carved with a floral design. This design is repeated in square panels around the base. It has a thick pine seat which lifts up to reveal a useful storage space below.
It is in very good condition for its age and the pine has a wonderful warm patina. There are signs of age and wear, small knocks and marks and old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental or untoward. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a gentle wax and is ready for use.
