Product Details

A superb antique Farmhouse table made from oak and elm. It dates from the early 1800s with some later alterations. The table has a thick planked top with a wonderful burr in the wood. The table stands on square oak legs joined by a central stetcher. There are two small drawers hidden in either side of the table. There was also likely a large bread drawer at one end but this has been removed at some point to allow for more legroom underneath the table.

It is a good size, comfortably seating 4 adults or 6 if someone were to sit at the ends and leg room clearance at the sides of 25" (64cm).

The table has a lot of character and the patination and depth is just superb. There are many old historic woodworm holes, knots and burrs in the wood, surface marks and signs of age and use but it is a solid and sturdy piece and all old woodworm has been treated as a precaution. There have been repairs and restorations over the years including new tips on the legs but it all adds to the history and character of the piece. The table has been cleaned and gently polished to retain its patina and it displays beautifully and is ready for use.
