Product Details

A lovely oak desk chair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is a good comfortable chair and very well made. It has a nice shape with a curved back supported by turned spindles. The seat is upholstered in a maroon leather-type material with a studded edge. It has four splayed legs and swivels on a large bolt and also tilts backwards when you lean back in the chair. The metal plate above the legs is stamped with a patent for 1895.

It is in very condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is structurally very sound. It is not without a few small marks here and there and a minor repaired split in the back rest but nothing untoward for a chair of this age. The seat is in good condition and the mechanism for tilting and swivelling is in good strong working order.

It is approximately 32" (81cm) high and the arms are 22" (55cm) wide. It is approximately 18" (46cm) deep.
