A lovely oak desk chair dating from the early 20th Century. It is a good comfortable chair and very well made. It has a lovely shape with a curved back and comfortable seat with red leather-effect upholstery. It has four splayed legs and the chair swivels on a large bolt which also adjusts the height of the seat.
It is in very good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is structurally sound. The chair is not without a few small marks here and there but nothing untoward or detrimental for a chair of this age. The seat covering is in good condition with no splits or tears. The mechanism for swivelling and adjusting the height is in good working order. There is always a little bit of play around the bolt but it is strong and sturdy and moves well.
It is approximately 33" (84cm) high. The seat is approximately 17 1/4" (44cm) deep and 17 1/4" (44cm) wide. The seat height is currently 18" (46cm) but this can be adjusted.
