A lovely oak tabletop stationery box with a nice warm patina and a domed top with brass escutcheon. The lid opens up to reveal a series of racks for holding papers and letters and it comes with its original working key. The lid is lined with blue leather and has a couple of pockets with gilt labels "Cards, Notes, Receipts, Postage".
It is in good original condition and there are no major damages. There are some general signs of age and use and the leather lining is a little worn and rubbed but overall it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
