A good example of an early 20th century stacking oak bookcase. The lock plates are stamped "The Lebus Bookcase" and it has a maker / retailer's plaque for "Henry Barker Ltd. Cabinetmakers & Upholsterers. Nottingham".
It has five glazed sections with an 'up and over' sliding door. The top three sections are smaller than the bottom two. It is a good quality piece with a nicely finished plinth and a shaped cornice with dentil moldings and a good colour to the oak.
As is typical with these pieces each section splits down so it can be easily transported.
It is in very good condition for its age and displays well. It is not without some signs of age, some general light marks and knocks but no major damages or anything detrimental. The bookcase has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
