A superb oak cantilever box dating from the early 20th Century. It would likely have been used as a countertop display in a Haberdashery shop to sell cotton and threads. The box has three cantilevered sections and a hinged glazed top. Each level is divided into 8 sections and there are two metal knobs on the front of the box to help lift it open.
It is in good condition for its age. The cantilever mechanism works smoothly and the inside of the drawers are clean and tidy. The dividers in the bottom section have either been remade or painted at some point as they are grey in colour but it doesn't affect the box. The wood has a nice aged patina with no major damages and overall it displays well.
