A superb marble topped weighing scale dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. Most likely used in a shop or a pharmacy. The scales are set on top of a good quality wooden box with a white marble top. The pans are brass and sit on crossed metal arms. The dial is on the front of the box behind a brass framed glass window.
The whole set is in good original condition and display very nicely. The box has a few small knocks and marks as to be expected and the brass scales have tarnished over time but they are superb quality and display beautifully. T hey have been cleaned and lightly polished and are ready for display.
They are sold as a decorative / collectors item rather than an accurate scientific instrument.
