A large mahogany framed Cheval mirror dating from the 19th Century. The mirror has a narrow frame with a gilt slip and a carved fretwork mount with a gold ho-ho bird. The mirror stands in a simple mount with square columns with turned finials on top. It has splayed pad feet and nice carved fretwork detail on the base. The mirror swings and can be adjusted and then tightened into place using the brass handles either side of the frame. It has its original antique mirror plate with some minor spots of wear and foxing.
It is in good condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays well. The spacers have been replaced at some point but the mirror is strong and sturdy.
