A lovely mahogany letter box dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It was likely originally made for an estate or a reception. It is well made with panelled sides, chamfered rounded corners and a recessed brass letter box in the top. It also has "Letters" hand painted above the slot. The front door has a glass panel and it comes with its original working key.
It is in good original condition and has a lovely patina. There are some general signs of age and use, some minor marks and but no major damages or anything detrimental. The back of the interior has been papered with brown paper at some point, possibly to cover some holes where it has been wall mounted previously. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
