A lovely mahogany desk chair dating from the early to mid 20th Century. It is a good comfortable chair and very well made with a cushioned leather seat. It has an attractive shape with a curved back and wide arms. It stands on slightly cabriole shaped front legs joined by stretchers. It makes a lovely desk chair but would also be a nice library or hall chair.
It is stamped on the rear of the seat with the maker's initials H.S.
It is approximately 33" (84cm) high and the arms are 22 1/2" (57cm) wide. The seat is approximately 19" (48cm) deep and 17 1/2" (45cm) high.
It is in very good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina with a rich colour and is structurally very sound. There are signs of age and use and it is not without a few small marks here and there and a few old repairs but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
