A lovely set of antique letter scales dating from the early 20th century. The scales are made of brass with brass pans - one round for the weights and one flat and square for the letters to be weighed. The beam is marked "Class B. To Weigh 8oz". They come with a set of three small brass weights which are recessed into the wooden base.
The scales are in good condition for their age and display well. The brass has tarnished over time and there are signs of age and use and some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental.
