A good quality 'Leg of Mutton' style gun case dating from the early 20th Century. It has a sturdy leather handle and a leather flap secured by a buckle over the brass catch. There is no key but the catch and release button works and holds the latch firmly closed. The inside is lined in a green felt and the outside has small initials 'C.D'.
It is very well made and the leather has a lovely patina with just the right amount of wear to show that it has been used but well cared for.
It is in good condition for its age with no major damages. The outer has sustained some small scuffs and light marks but nothing detrimental. The case has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
