A superb Gothic style lectern dating from the late 19th Century. It is a good quality piece made from oak and it is very solid and sturdy. It is double sided and the top turns freely. There are beautiful carved panels in the sides and it stands on a carved four-footed base.
It is in good condition with no major damages. There are signs of age and use with some minor marks and knocks around the base but nothing detrimental. The wood has developed a lovely patina and it displays very nicely.
